ntonio Conte has hailed his Chelsea side following a tricky 2-0 win over Hull City at the KCOM stadium.

The hosts managed to last an hour before succumbing to a goal from Willian and then from Diego Costa six minutes later.

Conte was looking for a response for his players after their 3-0 defeat to Arsenal last weekend and seemed happy by how quickly they bounced back.

He said in his post-match press conference: “Every game is very tough in England and I am pleased with our performance because we scored two goals and got a clean sheet.

I saw the right pressure and the right intensity from the players. We can improve and we must improve a lot and continue to work.

“After these two defeats it’s not easy to work because two defeats for Chelsea are heavy defeats. But this was a good answer.”

It was only the second time the Blues had kept a clean sheet this season which should calm some of the nerves surrounding the teams defensive abilities without captain John Terry.

But former Italian boss Conte became the latest Premier League manager to bemoan the two weeks of international break that starts on Monday.

Conte added: "Now I have to wait for the players to return from 10 days to prepare for the game against Leicester.

"I hope they come back without injury and we start to work again and follow this road."
